Frequently Asked Questions

Does Dr. Baroudi charge for his consults?

Yes. There is a $150.00 non-refundable charge for all cosmetic consults. The consultation is the time for you to evaluate your surgeon. Does him, his staff, and his facility, have the experience, professionalism, and technology to care for you? Do you trust that he will only recommend safe procedures and adequately evaluate your medical risks? Is he certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery? Is he a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery? If you are considering spending thousands of dollars on surgery, this may be the most important $150.00 you will spend.

Will my insurance cover the expense of my cosmetic surgery?

If the procedure is not a medical necessity, then the insurance will not cover the surgery. Most insurance policies do not cover the costs of purely cosmetic surgery. However, if the procedure is performed for reconstructive purposes, either to correct a health-related problem or a marked deformity following injury, the procedure may be covered.

Do you have financing for cosmetic procedures?

Can any plastic surgeon achieve the results that I want?

Not all plastic surgeons are created equally. To achieve the best possible results, both skill and artistry are needed, in combination with experience and advanced technique. Also, be sure that the plastic surgeon you choose is board certified. Ask for patient references, get all of your questions answered during an in-depth consultation before deciding to have a cosmetic procedure and, most importantly, make sure you are comfortable with your plastic surgeon. Dr. Issa Baroudi is a board certified general surgeon as well as a board certified plastic surgeon, with over 23 years of plastic surgery experience.

Why do lines appear on my face?

When your skin is young, the collagen framework is intact, keeping your skin moisturized and elastic. Young skin is resilient–the facial lines that appear when you smile or frown simply disappear when you stop smiling or frowning. As we age, however, we begin to lose this collagen framework and, with it, the ability to shrug off lines and wrinkles.

I am interested in liposuction or tummy tuck. I don’t know which one to get.

Some patients have a hanging pouch of skin that consists more of skin than fat. In certain cases, this will not respond to liposuction and must be removed directly by a tummy tuck. Compared to liposuction, tummy tuck is a more invasive procedure, which involves removing an ellipse of skin from the stomach wall.
